Yen To is a Social Worker and an educator. She has 10 years of teaching in Vietnam. She received her Master's in Education from Lakehead University in 2019 and an Honour’s in Bachelor of Social Work in 2022. Yen’s practice following graduation focused on group home and treatment centers where she worked with clients presenting with addiction, childhood and intergenerational trauma, parental separation, and/or borderline personality disorder. Yen’s main duties were facilitating groups, offering therapeutic intervention and crisis intervention, and connecting clients to community resources through internal and external referrals. Yen is knowledgeable in providing DBT skills for clients who struggle with emotion regulation and clients with concurrent disorders. Yen’s current role at OICBT is as a Registered Social worker completing intake assessments and triaging at OICBT.

The intake process at OICBT is aimed at providing clients with personalized recommendations based on research based tools,  symptoms measures, a clinical interview, and client preferences. All triaging at the intake level is reviewed by a Clinical Psychologist and incorporates a holistic and diversity-informed lens within a stepped care framework.
