Dr. Telner, who is now retired, is a founding member of the Ottawa Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He is the former head of Psychology at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. For many years, he was the head of cognitive behavioural therapy training in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Telner was formerly an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Clinical Professor of Psychology at the University of Ottawa. He also participated in the specialized Extramural Training Program for Residency Training Directors at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research. Dr. Telner focused his practice on CBT treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and its spectrum, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Specific Phobia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, as well as Major Depressive Disorder.
