Are you in the process of registering for Supervised Practice with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)? The Ottawa Institute of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (OICBT) is looking for individuals who are seeking to complete their year of supervised practice with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) starting in September 2025.  The successful applicants will work with other health professionals (psychologists, psychology residents, doctoral clinical psychology students, social workers, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, and occupational therapist assistant) in a dynamic and collaborative work environment. We offer supervision with a CPBAO registered psychologist with experience in clinical, counselling, and health psychology, as well as experience with couples and geriatric client populations. Duties and responsibilities will involve providing a range of services to an adult population, including conducting psychological intake, diagnosis, individual and group treatment, as well as providing supervision and training to junior clinicians.  The successful candidates will collaborate with the team in consultation, team meetings and treatment delivery.

The OICBT was established in 2009 and has more than 30 clinicians who provide a range of services including individual and group CBT, psychodiagnostic and ADHD assessments, intensive treatment for depression, OCD, PTSD, and anxiety disorders, as well as training programs for health professionals.  The OICBT aims to provide assessment and treatment services that are empirically supported, responsive to our clients’ needs and reflective of their financial and personal resources.

 

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from a clinical psychology program accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or the American Psychological Association (APA)
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
  • Training in and experience with the use of cognitive behavioural treatment for adults
  • Recent experience with patients with anxiety and mood disorders
  • Recent experience with provision of clinical training and supervision preferred
