Dr. Welsted provides assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing a range of psychological difficulties including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and trauma-related disorders, as well as personality issues. She also works with those experiencing psychological difficulties associated with illness and disability. Dr. Welsted’s primary approach to therapy is cognitive behavioural, and she has experience and training in other evidence-based approaches, including mindfulness, dialectical behaviour therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Welsted is involved in training and supervision of clinical psychology graduate students, provision of group therapy, and program development initiatives at the OICBT. Prior to joining the OICBT, Dr. Welsted completed her Ph.D. at The University of British Columbia and her pre-doctoral internship at The Ottawa Hospital.
